Big night. Comfy bed. New lover. There’s a million and one reasons for why you slept in your makeup. We’ve all done it. Don’t be hard on yourself, it happens. But #letsbefrank, you’re just as cute without make-up as you are with it (so take it off at your first sleepover with your crush, babe.)
When you wake up to find traces of last night printed on your pillow, there are a few simple steps to getting your skin back to square one. In other words, getting rid of the congestion and pimples that showed up uninvited to this pore party.
Step 1. Double cleanse.
Good things come in twos. My Anti-Makeup Cleansing Oil and Charcoal Face Cleanser are the perfect twosome for removing traces of foundation, washing away dirt, and helping you start fresh. Even if you don’t feel it.
Step 2. Seize the clay.
Get in deep and clear out those pores. My Original Face Scrub has white clay to pull out impurities and decongest clogged up pores. Scrub me on, pat down, and leave for 1-2 minutes for a mini masking experience.
Step 3. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Sleeping in makeup dehydrates your skin just like a round of margs dehydrates your body. Use a face mist, then my 5-minute Glow Mask, following up with my Caffeinated Face Moisturiser to lock in that juicy, bouncy hydration.
Step 4. Protect your skin.
Don’t forget to apply sunscreen. Not just when you sleep in your makeup, but every single day. It’s your daily protection against UVA and UVB rays, plus tired-looking skin. Just remember to wash it off before bed, babe. How? See Step 1.
Extra hot tips.
- Wash off your makeup earlier in the night, before you get too sleepy. Bonus: you get more time for masking.
- Set an alarm each night. Pick a song that makes you want to party in your bathroom. So, anything by Megan Thee Stallion.
- Leave a love note (ahem: sticky note) on your pillow as a reminder.
- The easiest way to remember to wash off your makeup? Don’t wear makeup at all. Simple.
