Whether you lie awake thinking about the embarrassing thing you did ten years ago or you can’t peel your thumb away from doom-scrolling TikTok, it can be hard to get a good night’s sleep.

Catching enough Zs helps you heal and repair, manage stress, improve your mood, and think more clearly.

Stop counting sheep and try my top 5 tips for getting some sleep.

Tip 1: No screens.

That means no TV, phone, laptop, iPad or any other screen for at least an hour before you want to sleep.

I know, it’s tempting to watch an episode of The Office in bed with your laptop precariously balancing on your stomach; but it won’t result in the best rest of your life.

Tip 2: Smell the lavender.

Put a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow (or on a face towel if you don’t want to stain your brand new silk pillow cases). And take a deep breath in.

Lavender soothes feelings of anxiety and helps you have a deeper sleep. Speaking of lavender…

Tip 3: Run a bath with me.

The hot water will relax you and actually lower your core temperature, which signals to the body it’s time for bed.

Take my In Your Dreams Sleep Scrub & Soak with you. The (you guessed it) lavender oil will calm your nervous system while my magnesium soothes muscles and melts away tension.

Tip 4: Pick up a pen.

Journaling reduces those bedtime worries and the Sunday scaries. Plus it increases sleep time and improves sleep quality if your issue isn’t just getting to sleep, but staying that way.

Set aside 15 minutes before bed. That’s all it takes. Put on a face mask while you do it.

Tip 5:  Make your bed bounce.

Getting jiggy with it will actually help you get a good night’s sleep.

Why? Because sex reduces cortisol— the hormone associated with stress. And after an orgasm the body reduces happy hormones that induce pleasant and relaxed feelings. So prioritise your pleasure for a climax that lasts all night.

No one sharing your bed? No worries. Take your fave vibe, toy, or fingers (#letsbefrank) and get sexy so you can get sleepy.

Now that you’re sleeping like baby, find out what your sleep position says about your relationship. But if it’s already 10pm; save it for tomorrow, babe, and put that screen away.
