Spring: the season for getting your s**t together.

For my southern hemisphere babes, this is the time of year when we emerge from our caves, bleary-eyed, confused and hairy. Fortunately, I’m here to help. Spring is here and as #frankcrush Tay Tay would say, it’s the season to ‘scrub shake it off’. Not just clothing, but habits and people. I’ve got the garbage bags, you bring the matches (metaphorically speaking babe). Because you always light my fire. Winky face.

So, let’s get started.

Delete the selfies.

And any other moments you’d rather forget. Clear out your social media feeds. That includes those moments when you thought that oompa loompa tan or bindi was a good idea. Save them for your next milestone birthday (and that slideshow presentation) – then hit delete. Replace them with photos of our time together.

Go to war on your wardrobe.

I’m not going to get between you and that fifth pair of boots. But I will say this, if you remove some things you haven’t worn in a year, that means you can replace it something new. Donate your pre-loved clothes to someone who really needs them. It’s a win-win babe.

Get a little handy.

Sew on that button, glue that heel. Restore your treasures to their former glory. Or take them to a shoe repairer or an alterations shop. It will be cheaper than replacing it. That means more cash for other things, like me.

Create some space – in your space.

Are you the next guest star on Hoarders? Didn’t think so. So let’s declutter. Get a tray or a filing system for all those papers; clear off the tops of shelves and save that space for beautiful things like a candle or a new book; and pack last season’s clothes into plastic boxes for storage.

Clean up your eating.

Step one: open your cupboard and your fridge.
Step two: throw out processed foods.
Step three: switch up your produce.

Spring is when winter’s carb-loaded food takes a backseat. As you see the weather change, the supermarket aisles do too (mostly). Get your mouth around green beans, broccoli, bananas and new season berries. Check out this seasonal food guide, here.

Clean up your skincare.

Flip open that makeup bag – and your bin.

My makeup babes say you need to ditch anything that’s six months old. Mascara is the only exception. That needs to go after three months because it can be a breeding ground for bacteria (pink is good; pink eye not so good). Shadows and powders can last a few years but watch out for any changes in colour or formulation. Otherwise they need to go, too.

As the weather changes, so does your skin. Switch to a lighter cleanser like my Creamy Face Cleanser. It washes away dirt and impurities without stripping the skin of natural moisture. Its trio of oils (coconut, grapeseed and sweet almond) hydrate the skin which is what your sweet cheeks need when the weather warms up.

Clean out the s**t people.

That guy who never returns your calls? Delete.
That friend who only calls you when she wants something. Remove from favourites.
And that family member who won’t stop calling? Get voicemail.

Spring is for new beginnings and that means getting rid of toxic relationships. The first step to detoxing? Some time with me and my limited edition Fit Kit: it’s like a spring clean for your skin, so you can spring clean your life. My Peppermint Coffee Scrub to scrub away the winter blues and my Body Balm to hydrate dry skin and make you shine, just like the babe you are.

I’m the spring fling that’ll make you blossom, babe.
x frank

PS – Thanks to the babes from Wildfox for the babe’n pic above.
