Why do I need this?
It’s easy to forget about protecting your (hot) body from the sun, especially on days you aren’t spending at the beach. UVA rays cause skin ageing and can penetrate even glass and clouds, and UVB rays cause redness and sunburn. No matter the weather or the season, your skin is exposed to these rays, which is why you need sunscreen for your body every day. This is not a tanning oil – do not use me to bake your bod in the sun. My SPF30 The Better Oil has broad spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, and will also keep your skin quenched with a shimmery finish. Use me in addition to my SPF50+ Hydrating Body Lotion as your daily defence and a damn sexy SPF.

Is it “reef-safe”?
This sunscreen does not contain avobenzone or oxybenzone, which are known to be harmful to coral reefs and marine ecosystems. However, it does contain octocrylene, a chemical sunscreen ingredient that is increasingly being considered as non-reef safe. Recent studies suggest that octocrylene can accumulate in marine environments and potentially harm coral reefs and aquatic life.
Is it water resistant?
No, babe. Oil and water are not good friends. Reapply often as per instructions. Hot tip: My SPF50+ Hydrating Body Sunscreen is 80 minutes water resistant.

Is it cruelty-free and vegan?

Is this safe to use on my kids?
The Cancer Council recommends minimising the use of sunscreen on babies less than 6 months of age. For babies older than six months, sunscreen should be used as the last line of defence after avoiding direct sunlight, putting on covering clothing, a hat and shade. Can I use this on my face?
This product is designed for your (hot) body and may be too heavy for the skin on your face. My advice? Use a dedicated face SPF every day.

Is it okay for sensitive skin?

Is this mineral or chemical sunscreen?
This sunscreen uses chemical UV filters.

How much should I apply and how often?
Use at least 5ml per limb (which is the equivalent of a teaspoon) or about a shot glass for your whole body. It’s more than you think, so don’t be shy.
Apply me in the morning, 20 minutes before sun exposure. Then reapply every 2 hours or more often if you’ve been swimming, towelling, or heavily sweating.

Do I still need to use a moisturiser as well?
The Better Oil is packed with nourishing oils, perfect for layering on top of your daily SPF50+ Hydrating Body Lotion or standard moisturiser. To keep your skin happy and hydrated, use a body moisturiser without SPF at night.
Will it leave a white cast?
No, babe. I’m oil based so I leave no white cast. I’m suitable for every babe.
Will it clog my pores or make me break out?
Due to my lightweight formula, I’ve reduced the risk of breakout potential. To be in the clear (literally), scrub or cleanse me away at the end of the day.
