One piece of advice for the opposite sex? Being a gentleman is never out of style.

One piece of advice for the opposite sex? Being a gentleman is never out of style.

I got down and dirty with Jewellery designer, Sharona Harris from F & H Jewellery. I told her that I would be happy for babes to wear her jewels and not much more, and she agreed. She told me about her skincare regime, and how it largely revolves around a healthy, fit lifestyle in Byron Bay.

What’s the first thing you think of when you wake up?

I think about checking my phone (emails, social media, sales etc), it’s a dirty habit but hey, that’s life in the fast lane.

Then, what’s the first thing you do?

Normally it’s straight to a 7am yoga class for a bit of zen time after stressing out about question 1.

You started F and H Jewellery, what inspired this?

It was quite simply because I couldn’t find jewellery that suited my aesthetic. Most jewellery brands tend to be either very minimal or bohemian and I wanted something that suited my tough-luxe styling… the perfect jewellery for babes that love jeans and biker jackets.

Your designs are luxe, yet a little rough. Does this represent your own personal style?

Yes that is me to a T. I live in ripped denim and leather boots, but I like to offset that with a luxe jacket and plenty of statement jewellery.

Your favourite item to date?

My new ‘Bianca’ over-sized hoop earrings, they have hammered metal to give them a little bit of 70s luxe styling, but they also resonate with the over-sized statement earring of the 80s, so what’s not to love?

And if you weren’t designing jewellery, you’d be?

A pro-surfer… joking. I can’t surf, but I am desperately trying!

Top tip for a young designer?

Be prepared for a tough journey ahead… you need to be incredibly determined to succeed, but the reward of working on your own brand is worth it.

And favourite quote you live by?

“I’ve got the same amount of hours in the day as Beyoncè” … there are no excuses after remembering this and it kills any procrastination.

Being busy & in the design world, what do you do to take care of your body & skin?

I eat well and exercise as much as I can. I live in Byron Bay, so it’s easy for me to eat fantastic local produce and get plenty of fresh air and exercise, which I think is the key to staying vibrant.

3 essential items of skincare you can’t live without?

A good Vitamin C serum to help with sun protection, a fantastic sunscreen for even more sun protection, and then a beautiful moisturiser to keep my skin hydrated (I am LOVING the frank body balm).

And if you know you have a big work trip coming up, you will make sure you…

Call mum to tell her she needs to babysit my French bulldog (her name is Yoplait).

Lastly, who should I get down and dirty with next?

Mel Tan, owner of Joy Hysteric boutique.

Mel, when are you free? Coffee’s on me.

xx frank
