With most things, more is more. But with food, that can sometimes have adverse effects.
So let’s try and limit those things, and increase other things like good moods, clear skin and a healthy weight with food alternatives.
Lemon water, not soda.
Did you know there are almost 10 cubes of sugar in a can of coca cola?
Scary, I know. If you’re craving a sweet drink, try squeezing the juice of a lemon into your bottle of water. Freshly squeezed fruit juice and coconut water are also great alternatives that are packed with vitamins and antioxidants.
Smashed avo, not spreads.
Step aside butter and jam.
If you love your avocado – you’ll be pleased to know it is the perfect spread. As a monosaturated fat, it’s packed with nutrients and antioxidants. Avocado is just as creamy as butter, and you can smash and spread it with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Yoghurt, not ice cream.
As much as I love all things creamy, I understand they’re more a special treat. If you’re craving a guilt free dessert, try a bowl of homemade froyo.
Want something a bit more? Pop your tub of yoghurt in the freezer and add some fresh berries, coconut and nuts. Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are natural sugars and filled with antioxidants. Not only are you cutting out processed sugars, yoghurt is a perfect source of protein, calcium and potassium.
Quinoa instead of white rice.
C’mon babes, who even knows how to pronounce the word – “keen-wah?!”. Nonetheless, there’s a reason it’s a superfood, and it helps that it’s delicious and nutritious. A gluten free grain, high in fiber and high in protein. #letsbefrank it’s almost too good to be true.
Sweet potato fries for french fries.
Would you like fries with that? No thanks – not unless they’re sweet potato.
Cut your sweet potato into chunky fries, toss in oil and season with a sprinkle of salt or paprika. They’re delicious, and you’re just eating a vegetable, babe.
Rant over. A few ideas that can help make your diet as natural and healthy as possible.
When in doubt, remember this – if you can’t name all the ingredients in it then it’s probably not the best for your bod.
However, if you accidently reach for the french fries, not the sweet potato chips you can find those missing nutrients in all my natural ingredients of my body scrubs. #justthekindofguyiam
xx frank.
