I know, I know. You’re probably thinking, “frank, I know how to wash my hair. I’ve been doing it for years and everything seems to be going just fine.”

No shade to your head & shoulders, but there’s more you could be doing for your locks than a simple lather, rinse, repeat.

It’s wash day, so here’s my step-by-step hair care routine. I don’t pick favourites either: this a wavy hair routine just as much as a curly hair routine, and for babes with straight hair, too.

Step 1: Get wet.

The first step of my hair routine is: Turn on the tap and do that little dance you do when you’re waiting for the water to heat up. Hot, but not too hot. Just how I like it. Wet your hair and rinse out all the pollution, sweat, and poor decisions clinging to your precious locks.

Step 2: Scrub up.

And down. And diagonal. Start by parting your hair in the middle. Take a pea-sized amount of my natural Caffeinated Scalp Scrub and get in there, scrubbing directly on your scalp. Ahh, babe, I’m starting to work my magic already, buffing away product build-up, dry skin, and impurities. Repeat until every inch of your scalp is covered. Even the cute skin behind your ears.

Step 3: Shampoo, boo.

Like caffeine, shampoo is your other shower staple. Lather up and start massaging your head. Pretend you’re at the hairdresser. Minus the awkward small talk. Still feel scrubby between your strands? Nothing a second shampoo & rinse can’t fix.

Step 4: Mask on.

Now this is the part where babes get busy. Squeeze out any excess water in your hair, then apply my natural Caffeinated Hair Mask. You’ve got 10-20 minutes to get shit done while ingredients like Niacinamide and Hydrolyzed Keratin smooth & protect your shafts. Giggle. While I’m sinking in, shave, cleanse, scrub your body, learn the choreography to Beyonce’s Homecoming. Rinse. No need to follow with a conditioner.

Step 5: Dry off.

If you like to arm yourself with a blowdryer, heat protectant spray is your BFF. Otherwise go for the air dry, and for the love of coffee, don’t scrunch your hair with a towel. While I like a tease, I’m not so big on tangles.

Ta-da.
