Skincare SOS: Winter edition.

Winter. #letsbefrank, it's not all marshmallows and fireplaces. In between secretly wearing your pyjamas underneath your clothes, inviting babes over to spoon you, and relying on your hairdryer as a body heater, your skin suffers. Here's what the winter blues do to your skin and how to end them.

No moisture up in here

Harsh winter conditions mean your skin will be drier than a blind date and prone to breakouts, cracked lips, and flaky bits. Skin needs more moisture in winter, and moisture right after you wash. Applying moisturiser to damp skin helps seal it in, leaving you supple for longer. My Caffeinated Face Moisturiser is natural, lightweight, and caffeinated. No nasties that clog pores, just ingredients that make your skin look great and stay healthy.

Fire and water

Hot water on your face during winter seems like the only realistic wake-up call. But it's also not helpful. Keep your tap at lukewarm temperature to avoid stripping oils from the skin. We need those, babe. We really do.

Drink

If I had it my way, hot chocolate would come out of your bathroom taps. While it's more comforting drinking something hot during winter, don't ditch the water altogether. Skin needs hydration from the inside too. A water bottle will remind you to drink more and keep you glowing from the inside out.

Tone down the irritants

Nobody wants harsh chemicals in their skincare. Things like parabens and PEGs can trigger sensitive skin, especially in winter when cold conditions make skin more fragile. Avoiding irritating fabrics and chemical-laden detergents helps. And using gentle cleansers, like my Enzyme Face Cleanser, helps protect sensitive skin while giving you the clean and moisture your skin needs.

Protect your insides like your outsides

As much as pizza encompasses all the food groups, it turns out it's not great all the time (*babe faints*). Wholesome, nutritious food like broccoli and green things keep your insides happy, which keeps your outsides glowing. And while my Coconut Coffee Scrub is green, you can't eat me, sorry babe.

Eat your vitamins

Not the gummy bear kind. Getting a high dose of vitamin C, zinc, or omega-3 helps support your skin's collagen. These super supplements are the building blocks your skin needs to stay supple and smooth. And for the days you'd rather curl up into a ball than eat a salad, dive into my Original Coffee Scrub. Sweet almond oil and antioxidant-rich coffee to give you smooth, glowing skin without picking any berries.

So, shall we head back to yours?
