Frankly, I’m ready to tear off the wrapper (and your bathrobe) to give you the naked truth about chocolate.

Frankly, I’m ready to tear off the wrapper (and your bathrobe) to give you the naked truth about chocolate.

First thing’s first: not all chocolate is created equal. (Like coffee scrubs, cough).

For chocolate to be good for you, you need it in its purest form. That means more of a little something called Cacao. And less of things like sugar, milk and butter which are pretty common ingredients in your average chocolate bar. Don’t pout babe, because Cacao is what makes this often ‘naughty’ treat – nice. And delicious.

So what are the benefits of cacao for you and your bod?

It makes you an even happier babe.

#letsbefrank you’re already on cloud nine. But do you want to see the view on cloud 109? Just like our times in the tub put a smile on your dial, cacao can also make you feel fine. This is because of two things: serotonin and phenylethylamine.

Serotonin is the feel-good brain chemical. Cacao gets that chemical flowing which makes you feel better about life. Phenylethylamine also makes you feel good, by releasing endorphins. These are the hormones that race through your body when you exercise or fall in love. Kind of like the effect I have on you really. #letsbefrank

It gives you a happy heart.

Raw cacao contains flavonols which protect your heart against cardiovascular disease, reduces the risk of stroke and improves blood circulation. So that means your heart has even more love to go around.

It means you always have a good hair day.

Kind of. Cacao beans are rich in magnesium, which is a great source of sulfur. It gives you shiny hair and nails, while also preventing fat-like substances entering the bloodstream and blocking the arteries. So that’s good news for your liver and pancreas too.

It’s good for your insides – and for your outsides.

Cacao has up to three times the antioxidant level of green tea. That’s why I use it in my Cacao Coffee Scrub. This antioxidant rich scrub fights signs of ageing, dryness and fine lines. So, chocolate bar in the shower anyone?

So how does a babe get all of this goodness?

Just like a coffee-based skincare, to get real results you need the real deal. Chocolate with at least 70% cacao or quality raw cacao powder is the way to go. Mix it into hot almond milk for a healthy winter treat or an afternoon pick me up.

And don’t forget your bod either, like Heidi Klum (pictured above). For my southern hemisphere babes, my new Cookies & Cream skincare kit has you covered: Cacao Coffee Scrub and Body Cream is all the deliciousness (and hydration) you need to warm up your skin this winter. For my northern hemisphere babes, I’ve got your back (literally) too. Add some cold water and my Cacao Coffee Scrub for your own shower frappé. I’ll bring the sprinkles.

Share the cacao love on social.

xx frank.
